The Fat Girl’s Guide to Everything
Welcome to the pre-launch post of The Fat Girl’s Guide to Living – a life hacker for the full-figured set. This is blog is a no-holds-barred place for women who are tired of being held back (from work, from fun, from feeling alive) by their weight and the self-perceptions that often accompany it.
Feel free to explore what we’re all about (and what we aren’t) on our about page, come meet the girls behind the blog, and most definitely leave us comments on what you’d most like to see here. We’ve got a long, long list of content lined up for you already, but suggestions for topics to cover are always welcome.
If you haven’t already, sign up now for our RSS feed and join us on Twitter (we’re brand new and could use some followers)! Last but not least, please send other women you know who battle self-perception issues with weight and body image. The more the merrier, and we look forward to casting out those demons together.
PS: We’re still working out some of the layout and functionality glitches on the site. Things may look funny for a few days, features may be missing, buttons may not work. Thanks for your patience while we fix it all up for launch.
Come on in and introduce yourselves here! We want to hear all about our readers.
Hi. My name’s Chiway, I’m 30 years old and I’m from the Philippines. I love photography and travel. So far 2009 has been my most active year when it comes to travelling. Your site looks promising. Can’t wait for the launch.
Best wishes!
This site looks AWESOME – I can’t wait to hear more! I feel like I’ve been battling these issues for years and never really stumbled across the right place for me. Looking forward to getting involved here – will be nice to have some help on the journey.
Hey looks fab! Great idea:) How did I miss this???
xoxox Luscious gal in Nova Scotia:)
Just came across your site. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am a bit older than most of the girls here ,and I can tell you I have been struggling with the fat girl issue all my life. It is a comfort to hear others and know there is a place to express myself among those who understand. Keep up the great work!
Hi Yael, welcome! I’m glad you found us
I WENT DANCING. And I wasn’t constantly apologizing for my size, and checking to see if I looked large and ungainly. I just went and had a good time–even when the men that were asked to dance with me didn’t look happy about it. THAT WAS THEIR PROBLEM, not mine. So thanks for your encouragement. It really helped me take this risk and do what I love!!
So tickled about this, thank you for posting it here!
