This is a great article. I can't wait to try out the tips that you've given us. I've only meditated a few times and I always wondered if I was doing it right! Thanks.

simone - Thanks so much! Kate has such a fantastic voice and I love reading how she breaks things down into manageable, bite-sized pieces and makes it fun, too. Would you mind sharing for how long you've been meditating and where and when you do so? Our readers might find it helpful to know how someone built a daily practice.

Hi, Cindy. Yes, you are absolutely right - you can meditate on anything that is meaningful to you. And meditation is not in conflict with any other belief systems, which is a bit of a myth that's out there. Thanks for sharing your take on this!

I love this topic and would just like to expand upon it a bit by adding some other things to meditate on, like from the Bible:
...meditate upon it (scripture) day and night , then your way will be prosperous and you will have success; ... his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night;...meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. There are many of these! My preference for meditation is to focus on spiritual values, emptying my thoughts of myself and allowing the truth that I value to refresh and guide my soul. - which is just another perspective on what was already said. Thanks for the articles!

This is a great article, with really useful information and as a person who meditates daily I recommend a daily practice because, for me, it keeps me clear, focused, centred and just generally happier than without. It is the foundation to my day.
