FGG Photo of the Week: Color!

Toryanni plays Cinderella in her We Love Colors tights

Cinderelly, Cinderelly from midnighteskye

I was once as guilty as they come when it came to hidingĀ  behind drab, mousy, baggy clothing. For years after I gained weight I kept only tans, blacks and grays in my wardrobe…maybe an occasional pair of blue jeans. I wanted to attract no attention. Color, especially bold color, was out of the question.

It’s only been in the past two or three years that I’ve started coming out of that shell. First it was sage greens, then golden yellows, then, in 2008, after a lifetime of fear and loathing, I finally embraced the color pink. Oh yeah. So when I saw the bold colors in this photo, and the carefree way Toryanni played it, I knew it was this week’s photo.

What about you? What bold moves are you making this year? Show us over at the FGG Girls Flickr pool, and enter for a chance to win our monthly photo prize.

  1. I’m trying my best to make this year the year I stop wearing so much black. Proof I rely on blacks & greys too much? My mom bought me a half dozen tops for xmas because it was a “sale she couldn’t resist”. They’re all black, grey, or black/grey/white combo.

It’s hard for me to know what color hues go with my skintone and my hair, and I hate attracting attention too but…I need to stop looking like I have a funeral to attend.

  2. This year, is the first year I’ve been single in 7 years…My bold moves are doing things alone…I started with dinner by myself at the Cheesecake Factory, it wasn’t as bad as I thought…

I love We Love Color tights. I wish I could have one of every color.

Lilly, Midnighte – rock on! Let us know how you’re doing?

Moe – I’ve only just heard of them in the last couple of months. Are they pretty durable?

  5. Moe says:

Tee, they are pretty durable but it’s important not to pull them up tight over your toes like you would a pantyhose.

  6. Tee says:

    Good to know, thanks Moe.
