Meet the Girls
At almost 40, Tee finally married her long- suffering fiance of eight years (after chickening out three times). She’s chief wrangler of two teenagers, two dogs and three cats, and has visited every state but Alaska and Hawaii. She’s a writer, editor + photographer in Reno, Nevada, and until this year hated the color pink.
Tee also blogs at Adventure Journalist, and started The Fat Girl’s Guide after realizing lots of her readers were letting weight hold them back from all kinds of good stuff (and sometimes so was she).
Also a professional writer, editor + photographer, Toni lives north of Chicago with four men (her adorable boys and a rock-steady husband). Not shy, she’s talked about sex with city cabbies, been dog-sledding in Minnesota and braved the long and lonely Al-Can Highway. She’s the Twitter record-holder for tweets that make your in-laws blush.
Toni blogs at Bring the Family, where she inspires parents to hide the remote and get out to enjoy fun, enriching family outings – from back yard exploration to urban hiking to road trips.
As FGG’s resident foodie, Michelle’s job is to tempt even the most die-hard dieters away from a soul-sucking scarcity mentality and into mindful decadence with her delicious recipes and food photography – because high-quality, homemade food should always feel good. Look for her features every Friday, and prepare to make the good stuff count.
Michelle blogs over at Culinography, and lives in northwest Arkansas with her cupcake-lovin’ husband, her dog, her cat and her well-worn Wii EA Sports Active.
When she can convince her cat that laptops aren't furniture, Angela contributes to the well of answers (and attitude) at FGG. She writes professionally from her tiny Chicago apartment about everything from volunteering to her best friend's dog and blogs the rest at Cirque du Snark. Angela would say more about that, but she was interrupted by the daydream where she's cruising Lake Huron via party barge, eating Godiva chocolate cheesecake from the Stanley Cup. It happens.
Believe it or not, Peony doesn't spend all of her time on dates or lounging around in a silk negligee. No matter what she's doing, her candid nature and quick wit tend to get her in, and out of, trouble. She's a professional writer and marketing strategist who spends most of her free time chasing her two big dogs around Austin and creating things. Sometimes that's dinner, sometimes it's Italian Renaissance gowns, frequently it's photos. Maybe one day she'll meet a nice guy and settle down.
OK, so maybe he's not technically "one of the girls," but Charlie O’Hay is a poet whose work has appeared in over 100 literary journals, and in numerous well-regarded landfills across the U.S. He's married, is father to a fierce and lovely daughter, and has been called a crank and a curmudgeon (among other things). Charlie blogs at It Ain’t All Pizzas and Cream, and lends a guy's perspective on the pursuit of health, life, love and adventure when you're overweight.
